I had been dabbling in Vinyasa yoga videos on YouTube for some time (I lacked the confidence to attend a real class) and heard Kundalini Yoga mentioned in a few which sparked my interest. I ended up spontaneously booking a (real life) class at Joy via Instagram in early 2020. I felt a shift in my energy/thought patterns straight away and was immediately hooked! Shortly afterward came the pandemic. As a barber unable to work, Kundalini Yoga gave me the structure and elevation I needed during this time. After months of insatiable fascination with Kundalini Yoga, it made sense to me to enroll in the teacher training program to further my understanding of the practice and I'm so glad I did! I loved learning about yogic philosophy, the nature of the mind, and the endless tools available within the Kundalini Yoga tradition to support you through all phases of life. I particularly enjoyed sharing the experience with a group of diverse yet like-minded people with whom I am still in touch with and hope to always be.

The insight and perspective I gained from the teacher training experience is too great to mention. Besides giving me the confidence and inspiration to teach, it has equipped me with the ability to notice my habitual patterns and the strength to change them. Most notably my relationship to alcohol and drugs as a social crutch, of which I have since dropped attachment to and abstained from for the past nine months. Something unimaginable for me before taking the course!

I would not hesitate to recommend this highly transformational program.

Thank you Sat Shakti and Simran!

I have been practicing martial arts and Qi Gong for over 45 years and have also studied traditional Chinese medicine (Tui’na and acupoint therapy). I was looking for something to study but did not know what and naturally most things you come across on the internet are dismissed. However, I came across Joy Yoga and Kundalini and was curious to learn more. I went with my gut feeling and took a leap of faith and enrolled for the KRI Certified Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training at Joy Yoga with no understanding of what Kundalini Yoga was or what to expect and my journey began. When I went to my introduction session the teacher Sat Shakti was very welcoming the studio very clean and the atmosphere tranquil but I was seeking knowledge and an experience that would either complement my background or stand on its own as a unique system. Not only did Kundalini Yoga stand on its own as a unique system but I was introduced to so much more. And as I became more involved with the Kundalini Yoga community everybody I met was friendly and open to sharing their knowledge and their experiences. Now that I have completed my teacher training I can truly say I ventured on a nine-month journey that was life-changing. I am hoping to set up a Kundalini Yoga school in my area and get more involved within the Kundalini community. Also, I am looking forward to starting my level 2 Teacher Training – Transformation. The best way I can describe Kundalini Yoga is – Kundalini Yoga is an ocean of knowledge and I am a single person on a boat on that ocean and I have a choice to make I can skim the surface or dive in and experience the riches that Kundalini Yoga has to offer.
