The Journey of Meditation
Are you perfectly serene in meditations? Or are you like the rest of us, finding your mind and mood bouncing around?
It’s a rare occurrence to sit down and ta-daaaaa, you’re there, blissed out with your own clarity, basking in your own sense of completeness. Most of us have lots of subconscious garbage to clear out before we get there.
As you go through each meditation, it’s normal for your mind to wander. Left unchecked, your mind will bounce around from thought to thought, chasing every squirrel in your mind’s eye. As your mind wanders, so does your experience.
You may have sat down to meditate with an almost divine sense of purpose. Those first few moments of your practice, you may be in love with the experience and the knowledge that some level of elevation is just around the corner. You’re committed to keeping your arms up (or whatever wicked element of the kriya faces you). But suddenly you’re irritated. Or frustrated. Or bored.
Being upset is a perfectly normal part of the process of meditation - the journey to your own awakening. If it shows up as part of your experience, acknowledge it as just that.
You will probably bounce around, forwards, backwards, sideways but as you go, you’ll clear out more of the mental rubbish within each meditation. Your mind will become calmer, clearer, better focused. You may find your journey through life is less volatile and you might become less reactive and more at ease in yourself.
